Let Go. Let God. Repeat.

Life can feel overwhelming at times. Responsibilities pile up, expectations press down, and the weight of our mistakes and regrets can feel heavier than we can carry. Many people try to control everything in their lives. They plan every detail, attempt to fix every problem, and take on burdens that were never meant to be theirs alone. Yet, no matter how hard we try, some things are beyond our control. The Bible teaches that we are not meant to carry these burdens alone. God calls us to surrender, to trust Him, and to rely on His strength.

The phrase “Let go. Let God. Repeat.” is a simple but powerful reminder of this truth. Letting go does not mean giving up or ignoring problems. It means releasing control over things we cannot fix on our own and acknowledging that God is in charge. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Trust requires surrender. When we release our fears, worries, and frustrations to God, we are not showing weakness. We are showing faith.

Letting God take control means inviting Him into every area of our life. It means allowing His wisdom to guide our decisions, His peace to calm our hearts, and His power to carry us through challenges. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” When we let God handle what we cannot, His peace fills the empty spaces that anxiety and fear once occupied.

It reminds us that we cannot do everything on our own and that God’s strength is sufficient for every circumstance. 2 Corinthians 12:9 says, “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” Repeating the act of letting go opens the door for God’s strength to work through us consistently.

It can be as simple as pausing when stress rises, taking a moment to pray, and surrendering the situation to God instead of trying to force a solution. It can mean releasing anger, forgiving someone who hurt us, or stopping the constant worry about what the future holds. It can mean trusting Him with our dreams, relationships, or health. Every time we release control and hand it over to God, we invite His wisdom and power into the situation.
