The Father of the Fatherless
There are many young people today who grow up never knowing their father. Some know a name, some have a photo, and some have nothing at all. They learn to pretend they do not care, to swallow the ache, to act strong. But deep down, the unanswered questions never stop whispering.
Why wasn’t I worth staying for
Why didn’t he want me
What is wrong with me
I know that feeling.
I grew up without knowing my earthly father too.
No phone calls.
No footsteps at the door.
Nothing.
Just silence.
People say you get used to it, but you don’t. You just learn to carry it.
And because no one teaches you who you are, you try to build your identity out of whatever you can find. Friends. Entertainment. Anger. Humor. Noise. Anything to drown out the emptiness.
But here is the truth that changed my life.
God was waiting for me long before I knew how to look for Him.
When I finally got tired of running, tired of pretending, tired of feeling like I was missing a piece of myself, I began to seek Him with all my heart. Not halfway. Not when I felt spiritual. I came to Him broken, confused, and empty.
And He met me.
Not with judgment
Not with disappointment
Not with a list of rules
But with the love I had been starving for my entire life.
The Bible says in Psalm 68:5
“A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in His holy habitation.”
(KJV)
I used to read that verse and wonder if it was really true.
Now I know it is.
God does not replace your father.
He becomes the Father you never had.
He speaks identity into you.
He speaks purpose into you.
He speaks belonging into you.
He heals the wound nobody else can touch.
And this is why young people today need to hear about Him.
Because so many of them are where I was.
Walking around with a smile but carrying a silent ache.
Trying to be strong but breaking inside.
Feeling unwanted, unseen, overlooked, forgotten.
What they do not know is that the God of Heaven has had His eyes on them since the day they were born.
He watched them cry.
He watched them try.
He watched them search for love in places that could never give it.
And still, He waits.
With patience.
With compassion.
With open arms.
When you seek Him with all your heart, you don’t just find God.
You find the Father your soul has been craving.
To the youth who never knew their earthly father
To the ones who feel alone
To the ones who feel like nobody wants them
To the ones who think God is too far away
Hear this:
You are wanted.
You are loved.
You are not forgotten.
You were never abandoned.
And you have a Father who has been pursuing you since the moment you took your first breath.
Your story does not end with what you lost.
It begins with the One who found you.
